Healthy holiday
Health, Holidays No Comments »During holidays health is the last thing we think about. Abrasions, sunburns, irritating mosquitoes, food poisonings - we can expect such things everywhere during our holidays, at the seaside or in the mountains. But with appropriate things in our first aid kit we can have healthy holidays and avoid coming back from the journey without bad memories.
BEFORE WE GO
There are many medications and drugs that prevent from getting sick during the journey available at the chemists’. You can prevent it with chewing a piece of ginger or a special chewing gum. To avoid infections of veins you can take chestnut tree extract several days before the journey.
INFECTIONS
It is possible to get cold even in the plane, as viruses like such surroundings: crowd, no fresh air and air conditioning which dries the air and our mucous membranes. Add some painkillers, antifebrile and antitussive medications to your bag.
CLIMATE CHANGE
The climate change makes many of us react with headaches and sleepiness. To avoid that, stay at the hotel, don’t go to the sun until your organism adapts to a new climate. Another point worth mentioning is that you should wash all fruit and vegetables, drink at least 2 litres of mineral water every day. Don’t indulge yourself in trying local cuisine meals and avoid buying meals on the beach. Take medications that relieve the symptoms of food poisoning though with you.
SUNBATHING
Sun rays at the seaside are twice more dangerous because they are reflected by sand and water which double their strength. Apply sunsreens or sunblocks for very delicate skin. Cover your head with a hat or headscarf and protect your eyes with good sunglasses.
MOUNTAINS
Those who love hiking and walking to and fro should take ointments and medications for abrasions and blisters for their tired feet. They will prevent your feet from getting blisters and scratches or relieve the pain.
