Vintage clothing becomes more popular these days. There are certain designers who think that going green is chic and useful, and they reuse old clothes. Why not decide on the wardrobe reshaping rather than throwing all the old clothes out? Here’s how to go green with clothing.

Fashion changes every season while fabric stay, all the excitement with certain clothes passes while the clothes remain in our closets. Luckily, more manufacturers design with concern about the environment and customers are finaally able to find earth-friendly products. Nevertheless, it is the individual’s choice about the amount of clothing clutter bought every month.

Here’s what you can do:
1. Always know what you want before going shopping.
You must admit that buying clothes that are impulse buys usually turns out to be complete failure, either those clothes don’t fit you or don’t match the rest of your wardrobe. Ask yourself questions: What colors are for me?, Will the thing work for the clothes I already have?, Can I re-use it?
2. Take care of them.
Always change your work clothes into the leisure, homey suit every time you come back home. If something happens to your wardrobe try to fix it, so sew a button or give it to the tailor to have all alterations done.
3. Go into vintage
Some unwanted clothes will suit you well so in each pile of trash you can find some treasure. Give the garment the second life. Meet with the friends and swap clothes with them, maybe they’ll use them more often than you.
4. Learn how to wash.
Use the lowest temperature possible for washing, choose biodegradable washing powders and detergents, don’t use tumble dryers.
5. Re-purpose your wardrobe.
Find an alternative design for your old T-shirts, sweaters and jackets. Your old sweater can be a pillow cloth and your T-shirt may become a new dress. Get inspired by fashion magazines and with addition of some beads, ribbons, etc. you will achieve a new trendy look.

Must-haves for spring

Fashion & Trends No Comments »

Magazines and newspapers write systematically about the must haves for spring 2008, fashion must haves and spring fashion. But what should you choose from spring trends?

Fashionistas would like to kill me after reading this post but I truly believe that following the fashion trends is good only for freaks. Unless you have millions on your bank account and wardrobe of a house size, no job to go to every day, you should adapt the trends to your needs. A really fashionable wardrobe should change every month as fashion designer prepare not only seasonal shows but also pre-fall or pre-winter collections. What a nightmare! So instead of watching the shows and going nuts at the shopping centres choose some items that can be adapted both to your working and casual wardrobe.

9 things you should have this spring (actually you may wear them for the whole year as well, sic!):

1. High waisted pants

This one unfortunately is especially flattering for tall, thin girls. They come in all kinds of grey, you don’t have to buy all bright colors they have in shops. Grey trousers are not only trendy but also your boss won’t mind having such high-waisted worker.

I don’t mean those on your desk, because they are always fashionable and trendy. I mean flowers on your dresses, shirts or skirts. You don’t have to look like a garden immedaitely after reading it. You can simply buy one shirt with meadow of flowers, no one will notice it under yous suit and you’ll feel trendy.

5. Huge jewelry

This is a thing you can use and overuse at work. It’s surely the best aspect of jewelry that you can have bangles, rings that will add color to your every day look.

6. Tribal patterns

Try wooden jewelry and tribal patterns on your skirts, dresses and accessories. You don’t have to organize for the whole body piercing but some finishing touches will make you up to date
