Here’s what you can do:
1. Always know what you want before going shopping.
You must admit that buying clothes that are impulse buys usually turns out to be complete failure, either those clothes don’t fit you or don’t match the rest of your wardrobe. Ask yourself questions: What colors are for me?, Will the thing work for the clothes I already have?, Can I re-use it?
2. Take care of them.
Always change your work clothes into the leisure, homey suit every time you come back home. If something happens to your wardrobe try to fix it, so sew a button or give it to the tailor to have all alterations done.
3. Go into vintage
Some unwanted clothes will suit you well so in each pile of trash you can find some treasure. Give the garment the second life. Meet with the friends and swap clothes with them, maybe they’ll use them more often than you.
4. Learn how to wash.
Use the lowest temperature possible for washing, choose biodegradable washing powders and detergents, don’t use tumble dryers.
5. Re-purpose your wardrobe.
Find an alternative design for your old T-shirts, sweaters and jackets. Your old sweater can be a pillow cloth and your T-shirt may become a new dress. Get inspired by fashion magazines and with addition of some beads, ribbons, etc. you will achieve a new trendy look.
